It's spring on Nantucket and that means 16th annual Wine Festival is nearly upon us. The event kicks off tomorrow May 16th, and runs through the weekend with the finale on Sunday, May 20th. There are a number of events including a Grand Tasting on Saturday and Sunday, wine and food seminars, auctions, and more.

The Festival is always a good time and is highly recommended by at least a few of us at Nantucket Brand. If you have the chance, you should definitely try to make it to the Grand Tasting, if not to some of the other events. If you can't make it this year, you may need to make plans for 2013.

Daffodil Festival Weekend is coming up next month on Nantucket, taking place from April 27th through April 29th, 2012. The festival began in 1974 and has grown to become one of the most popular spring events on Nantucket, making it a great time to visit our island.

Over three million daffodils bloom each spring and they are put to good use in brightening Nantucket. Daffodils are used to decorate beautiful antique cars which form a parade starting on Main Street and driving out along the daffodil lined Milestone Road to 'Sconset for a big picnic. Store Fronts in town get in the spirit with daffodil themed window displays. Be on the lookout because you may even see some people who have decorated themselves with flowers!

Other weekend events include the The Annual Daffy Dog Parade, Nantucket Garden Club’s Daffodil Show, Children’s Daffodil Parade and The Daffy Hat Pageant. It's a great time to stroll around town, watch the parade, have a picnic and generally enjoy spring on Nantucket.
