The large, wooden Endeavour model ship is a beautiful representation of a historic J-Class racing yacht. In 1934, British airplane magnate, Thomas Sopwith, used his expertise and knowledge of aviation to create the most sophisticated yacht of the time. In its first year, this 130-foot J-class yacht, competed in the 1934 America's Cup. Although it was beaten out by the New York Yacht Club's Rainbow, it still has its own place in the history of yacht racing.
The Large Endeavour Model Ship stands triumphantly at 44" tall, 36" long and 6" wide. The twin clewed headsails are made of canvas and are true to the Endeavour's original design. The Endeavour has often been considered one of the world's most beautiful yachts. This stunning replica pays great tribute to that beauty and is the perfect addition to any room or space.
The wooden Endeavour model ship is beautifully created. The level of craftsmanship is not only an expression of great model ship building but also to the expertise that Thomas Sopwith put into the original Endeavour during its planning and construction. Its large size allows for the fine details to show even clearer.
