This nickel plated pineapple welcome sign hangs from a chain. The sign portrays a pineapple above the word "Welcome". Long a symbol of hospitality, pineapples were used on Nantucket in the 18th century by Sea Captains returning home. They symbolized that the home was open to guests to welcome the captain home. Sign measures 3.5 inches x 4.5 inches.
