The Marblehead Madras Whaler Shorts are a great selection to add to any man's spring and summer wardrobe. These summer preppy style shorts are named after Marblehead, Massachusetts, just up the coast from Boston. We wanted to pay tribute to one of towns that make the East Coast such a great place to be in the summer.
These shorts are made with 100% cotton patchwork madras. No poly/cotton blends here. We believe only pure cotton fabric gives the breathability and comfort that you need to stay cool and relaxed during the summer months. Our madras is true patchwork. Each piece of plaid fabric is sewn together by hand to create a unique and interesting pattern.
Our shorts have a 9" inseam, so the shorts fall to just above the knees. We've made sure to construct them precisely to avoid any unwelcomed bagginess. Our Whaler Shorts all have a nylon zipper because we have found that nylon is more hardwearing than metal zippers that can break easily. Two slanted front pockets are positioned to allow your hands to comfortably sit, if you choose, without causing your belongings to come tumbling out every time you sit. There are also two back pockets that can secure with a button.
The Marblehead Madras Whaler Shorts are made in the USA. We believe there is something to be said about wearing American-made clothing.
